Thursday: C3, Heroes Night Out, Painting, BYBCs, Mission Possible for Big Fish

Today we got the opportunity to hear about C3 and Heroes Night Out ministry at Twin Lakes.
C3 gives away household items to people in need of those things and Heroes Night Out is a place for veterans to be able to hang out with other fellow veterans.

Some people continued painting while others did BYBC and lawn work.

The delicious lunch was eaten while everyone read with the kids in the communities we've been visiting all week long. After lunch, hard workers kept painting and others performed BYBC.

After a nice break at the hotel, we headed down to Mission: Possible! Austin where we ate a hamburger dinner and did BYBC for their Big Fish Clubs.
We had a blast then went back to Mission Possible for worship and heard a talk from one of the interns Jessica about sharing the gospel. A fun game of "Flowers and Harvesters" was played at Twin Lakes Fellowship before heading back to the hotel for the night. Even though we're tired from a long week of hard work, we're still excited to see all what tomorrow has in store for us! Hasta maƱana from La Quinta Cedar Park!

Wednesday: More work projects, BYBCs, and CRC Experiences

Today we got the opportunity to learn about LifeBridge ministry and how they help educate young women. Afterwards two teams continued painting the same building as the previous days while the other two teams were doing lawn work.

Doug's small group brought us amazing desserts!
A yummy lunch was served as we read books to the children in the communities we've been visiting. Two teams performed BYBC and the other two teams continued doing a great job painting.
Reading books at Cypress Creek Apts feeding center.

After a nice break at the hotel, we went to Twin Lakes to eat dinner and listen to Chris Haskins tell us inspiring stories about working with students in juvenile detention through the Ninevah ministry. Officer Wyly Owens on our team shared his moving experience about when he found out about Chris and Ninevah as a police officer in a South Austin school where he tried to help teenagers who got into trouble.

Tuesday: Learning about and experiencing more Community Impact ministries

We started out the day by visiting the Hill Country Church of the Nazarene to learn more about their food pantry ministry. Two teams stayed to help distribute the food and clothes while the other two teams went to Twin Lakes Fellowship to paint and remove debris.

BYBC was performed for the kids at Twin Lakes by the teams working at that location also. After our delicious lunch we stayed and read books to the kids that live in the communities we've been working in. Backyard Bible Clubs were held by two teams while the other teams continued to paint and move debris.

Exhausted from a long day, we had a nice resting time at the hotel before we headed to Twin Lakes where we ate our dinner and heard about the Cars and garden ministry.

Yummy brownies and ice cream were served and followed by worship, a talk from one of the interns Abbie Baros about serving, and a fun game of Sneak Attack. We headed back to the hotel after having all this fun to rest up for tomorrow. ¡Buenos dias y buenas noches from La Quinta Cedar Park!

Monday: Job Seekers, Reveal, BYBCs, Work Projects, Career Life Ministry

This morning we visited Job Seekers Network (JSN) to learn more about their ministry in the way that they help people discover God's calling in their life.

After this two teams did Backyard Bible Clubs while the other two teams did work projects at Reveal and Twin Lakes for the rest of the morning and early afternoon. We also read with some of the kids who came to the LISD summer lunch program at 4 different locations. Unfortunately we weren't able to have our BYBC at the YMCA, but we were able to have a much needed resting and bonding time with our teams.

We headed back to Twin Lakes where we ate dinner, learned about the CRC electrical ministry, and heard a talk from one of the interns Sara about using your God given gifts for His glory.

After we played a fun round of Fishbowl, we headed back to the hotel for a good night's sleep. Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow and how God continues to move throughout this week. ¡Adios from La Quinta Cedar Park!
